A CI/CD pipeline configuration was recently "fixed" to stop hardcoding a deployment token, and the current version on main looks perfectly clean. But fixing the latest version of a file and actually removing a secret from a project's history are two very different things. Dig through the repository's full commit history to find what was quietly left behind.
