1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Play CTF (playctf.in), an educational platform operated by HackerHub8 LLP, an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. By registering an account, submitting documentation, solving challenges, or otherwise accessing the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the platform.

2. Platform Purpose & Educational Nature

Play CTF is a non-profit platform dedicated exclusively to cybersecurity education, skill development, and professional networking. The challenges, infrastructure, and tools provided are designed to teach defensive and offensive security concepts in a controlled, authorized environment.

• You agree to apply the skills learned here ethically and legally.
• HackerHub8 LLP strictly prohibits the use of knowledge gained on this platform for malicious, unauthorized, or illegal activities against third-party systems.

3. Account Registration & KYC Verification

To participate in challenges and rank on the leaderboards, you must register for an account.

• Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• KYC Requirements: To maintain a secure environment and verify identity, you may be required to complete a Know Your Customer (KYC) process by submitting a valid government-issued ID (limited to a passport, national ID, or driving license).
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. Account sharing is strictly prohibited.

4. Acceptable Use & Anti-Cheating Policy

Play CTF relies on the integrity of its participants. Any form of cheating undermines the value of the skills showcased on this platform. The following actions are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account suspension or termination:

• Flag Sharing: Sharing, trading, or publishing flags (the solution strings for challenges) outside of designated, authorized post-event write-ups.
• Infrastructure Attacks: Attacking the Play CTF platform infrastructure, databases, or administration panels. You are only authorized to attack the specific instances provided within a challenge description.
• Denial of Service (DoS): Launching DoS or DDoS attacks against any challenge or platform infrastructure.
• Automated Scanning: Using automated vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus, automated SQLmap sweeps) against challenges unless explicitly permitted by the challenge instructions.
• Tampering: Attempting to alter scores, badge criteria, or team affiliations through unauthorized API manipulation.

5. User-Generated Content & Forums

Play CTF allows users to interact via forums and submit user-created CTF challenges for approval.

• Content Standards: You agree not to post content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or completely unrelated to cybersecurity education.
• License Grant: By submitting user-created challenges or forum posts, you grant HackerHub8 LLP a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, and modify this content for educational purposes.
• Moderation: We reserve the right to delete, edit, or reject any user-generated content or challenge submission without prior notice.

6. Teams and Collaboration

• Team owners are responsible for the conduct of their members.
• If a team member is caught cheating or violating these Terms, HackerHub8 LLP reserves the right to penalize the entire team, including the revocation of points and earned badges.

7. Donations

Play CTF provides a donation function to support the continuous operation and hosting of this non-profit educational infrastructure.

• All donations are strictly voluntary.
• Donations do not entitle the donor to special privileges, flags, or unfair advantages on the platform.
• Donations are non-refundable.

8. Intellectual Property

All original content, platform code, branding, logos, and official challenge designs are the intellectual property of HackerHub8 LLP. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute the platform's proprietary code or content without explicit written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

• "As-Is" Basis: The platform and its challenges are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to the platform, as it may be subject to maintenance or network instability.
• Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Indian law, HackerHub8 LLP, its partners, and its administrators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, wipe your scores, and revoke your badges at our sole discretion, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in cheating, or abused the platform reporting systems.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, particularly the Information Technology Act, 2000. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
